Meet Holly Eschrich
Holly Eschrich was born and raised in Buffalo, New York. She attended college at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. She worked as a photographer for clients ranging from Westmore Academy of Cosmetic Arts & Special Effects to United Cerebral Palsy of Los Angeles, as well as many of the models and actors searching for the perfect photo in Hollywood.
Early on she had a love of dogs and helping others. After reading "Follow My Leader" By James B. Garfield in the second grade, she knew someday she wanted to be part of raising those puppies to help people like the guide dog Leader did for Jimmy.
During a trip to Baltimore, Holly and her partner Eric Newton learned about the Guide Dog Foundation in the back of a school program at his son's choir concert. They went online to learn more about the program and applied to become volunteer puppy raisers the next day. Within a few months, Holly moved to Baltimore full time to be with Eric to fulfill a lifelong dream. Together they have raised two working guide dogs and are currently raising their third. Holly is excited to raise a future service dog through America's VetDogs, for a veteran or first responder in association with WBAL.
